Treatment

Title : Malvern Massacre

Target Audience
The movie will be an 18 certificate, as there is a lot of blood and violence throughout the movie, starting from the beginning. The suitable age range should be 18-30. The target audience should also favour the horror/thriller genre.

Concept for the film
The main character, Mike, is an adrenaline junkie, and always likes being in the face of death. During the opening sequence, Mike has come home after a long bike race, and finds his wife with another guy in their house, having an affair. Due to this "event" Mike brutally murders his wife and the other man, this start off his kill spree, murdering every single person that has troubled him in the past. During the movie, he kills a close relative of the chief executive of the police force, this angers the chief and plots a big hunt for Mike, due to Mike being an ex-royal marine commando, he is pretty much impossible to find, as he has learnt how to survive in the field, with no shelter, he hides all trace of himself, making the police's hunt near enough a dead end, but because of Mike's rage, he slips up and makes mistakes, therefore leaving traces oh his whereabouts, but this is part of his plan...

Outline for the 2 minute sequence
Studio names, and corporate names appear, then the camera tilts down, through the roof, to pan across iconographic objects displaying the picture frame, as well as another table showing another picture accompanied by a half full wine bottle, and wine glasses, and in the background there is a slight outline of the couple on the sofa lying together. Next shot, Mike walks through the door, with the light shining behind him through the corridor, it then cuts back to the couple on the sofa in a different shot, ( to increase the suspense ), then it goes back Mike walking up the stairs (camera shot - worms eye view) focused onto Mike walking up the stairs. He then reaches the slightly opened door, and opens it slowly... the camera then cuts into a first person point of view, to include the audience with the emotions Mike would feel with his point of view. The audience will be able to hear his diegetic heartbeat, to take into account how fast his heart is beating. One person from the couple looks up and says "Oh Shit!", then the screen fades to black and, it then flashes to normal composure to show Mike from a first person view of the girl with a raised machete, then the screen goes black, and the blood will be focused onto as it would be white blood, as this would give a great impact. Then there is a view of a previous table with the wine on the table, and places the blood covered helmet onto the table, he then rotates the helmet to reveal the title of the movie, Malvern Massacre as if it were a logo.
